Cure Kids Adventure Race - South Island – 5 March 2011

Some of you may know, some not, but I have been submitting myself to months of gruelling, torturous training in preparation of the Cure Kids South Island Adventure Race. This is a full on event and nothing like I have ever done before. The race is expected to take between 6 – 10 hours and is a mixture of running, mountain biking (where possible), water traversing and orienteering.

Since being in NZ I have been involved with helping to fundraise, but I this year I have finally committed myself to training for the team. There are more details at http://www.curekids.org.nz/race_general.htm

Cure Kids is a truly worthy charity who provide funding for research into life-threatening childhood illnesses in NZ, this research will benefit children around the world. Cure Kids provides assistance to families living with life-threatening illnesses and I am going through rigorous exercise which is mentally and physically draining for a few months, however the children and families who are living with life-threatening illnesses have to deal with the illnesses and the effects every day.

The Ernst and Young team (5 of us are currently training) need to raise $10,750 as the entry fee and I am asking you to donate towards this amazing charity and to make me suffer for 6-10 hours on 5 March 2011. Any donation, no matter how small (or large), is greatly appreciated and can be made very easily by credit card on our webpage
http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/ErnstYoung2011/

Also, if you have any items you would like to donate there will be a Trade Me Auction taking place in March (after the Race) and we are also hosting a Quiz and Auction night on 18 February at The Garage, Gloucester Street at 6pm. Everyone is welcome to come along to the Quiz and Auction night and support this amazing New Zealand charity.

Tickets for the Quiz and Auction night are $15 per person, $60 per team of 4 persons. Please contact David Pennington at Ernst and Young on 03 379 1870 for tickets.

Thank you
