Change to Club Radio Channel

We have decided to move the club radio channel away from Channel 40 which is the default channel for road transport operators and has too much traffic on it.

The new channel will be Channel 28 with tone squelch CTCSS 141.3 (477.100MHz)

Tone squelch means that you will only receive traffic from others using the same tone squelch, removing all cross chatter from other parties.

CTCSS is a menu option on all radios, and you simply select the menu setting and scroll to the correct squelch tone.

For GME, Uniden and modern ICOM radios you can simply set to CTCSS 22, while for Baofeng and similar you have to set CTCSS 141.3 for both transmit (T-CTCSS) and receive (R-CTCSS).

We understand Southern region are also trialing channel 28 so that we will have a common frequency with them.  Please check before you fly that other parties are on the same channel and are using tone squelch.
